SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) — Police in Syracuse say a woman is recovering after she was dragged while trying to stop a woman from stealing a car that slammed into a school bus carrying several students.
Officials say the woman had left the car running while she went into a convenience store around 4:30 p.m. Monday. When she came out, she got into an argument with 28-year-old Alisha Selmon.
Police say Selmon then jumped into the car and drove away, with the other woman clinging to the side. The car traveled a short distance before hitting a school bus. An 11-year-old boy on the bus was treated for back pain.
The woman who was dragged was treated for a back injury.
The charges against Selmon include grand larceny. It couldn’t be determined if she has a lawyer.
