Rochester Contemporary Art Center (RoCo) was the location for this year’s holiday gathering of the Greater Rochester Association for Women Attorneys. The charity that GRAWA chose to support this year is the new Rochester chapter of the worldwide nonprofit Dress for Success.
GRAWA President Tiffany Lee introduced Alyssa Whitfield, the executive director of the local organization. Whitfield emphasized the fact that they provide a 90-day program to not only help women get a job, but to also keep a job. Dress for Success Rochester is so new, Whitfield is still looking for office space. More information can be found at www.dressforsuccess.org/rochester.
Lee also welcomed Maureen Crush, WBASNY vice president and liaison to the statewide Women’s Bar Association of the State of New York. Crush noted that WBASNY is now the second largest bar association in the state of New York.
GRAWA also used the holiday event as an opportunity to thank sponsors, holding a VIP wine tasting to begin the evening. Sponsors for the evening’s event included Tompkins Financial, Woods Oviatt Gilman, Sanchez & Associates, and Ashley and James Strandjord.
RoCo Executive Director Bleu Cease was on hand to answer questions about the current exhibit of 300 artworks by RoCo members. Past GRAWA President Sharon Stiller has a painting on display in this collection.
