The residents of Summit at Brighton and Wolk Manor gathered with family and friends at the Summit at Brighton campus recently to honor eight centenarians living on the premises. This year’s luncheon differed from the last, in that residents invited family and friends to join them in the celebration.
Jewish Senior Life officials engaged all attendees in a conversation centered on the biggest change they’ve seen throughout their life.
Dr. Morris Shapiro, 101, gave his thoughts on the “major changes in technology,” while Nate Zebelman, 102, shared his story on “transportation during the horse and buggy era.” Both groups expressed their thoughts on the changes in technology and transportation — both of which have seen drastic changes over the past 20 years, let alone the last century.
The full list of honorees: from Summit are Bess Whittaker, 102; Sidney Peck, 100; Ya-Yen Yu, 102; and Morris Shapiro, 101. From Wolk are Celia Lawrence, 100; Nathan Zebelman, 102; Diane Rock, 101; and Abe Levitt, 102.
