Super Bowl enforcement results

New York State Police issued 1,390 tickets during its Super Bowl Sunday STOP-DWI enforcement period from noon to midnight Feb. 1.

During the campaign, state police increased patrols and conducted sobriety checkpoints to deter, identify and arrest impaired drivers.

Troopers charged 31 people with driving while intoxicated during the 12-hour campaign while also targeting speeding and aggressive drivers across the state. They also issued 408 tickets for speeding, 39 for distracted driving, 55 for seat belt violations and 16 for the violating the Move Over Law.
