GATES (AP) — Authorities say they’ve charged a 49-year-old woman with fatally shooting her fiance during a domestic dispute at their suburban Rochester home.
Police in the town of Gates tell local media that the shooting happened around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday on Cole Avenue.
Officials say when officers arrived, they found 61-year-old Dennis Perks with a gunshot wound to the chest. He was taken to Unity Hospital, where he died.
Police say they charged Perks’ fiance, Ronna Nary, with second-degree murder.
Officials say Perks and Nary lived together and had been engaged for two years.
Nary was arraigned and sent to the Monroe County Jail with no bail. It couldn’t immediately be determined if she has a lawyer.
