Students with developmental disabilities will be able to attend college at Monroe Community College’s Damon City Campus thanks to a $20,000 grant from M&T Bank.
The grant will help fund Lifetime Assistance’s Achievement Award Certificate Program, a two-year certificate program initiated through a partnership with MCC.
The unique certificate program allows students with developmental disabilities to audit college classes, work with peer mentors and complete four internships in areas of their interest that will help them excel in the future.
“This innovative program provides unique educational and social opportunities for personal growth and development, leading to employment upon graduation,” said Lifetime’s President Jamie Branciforte. “We extend a tremendous thank you to M&T Bank for their support and dedication to the community.”
