Roberts Wesleyan College announced recently that the institution has been honored on the 2015 Great Colleges to Work For list, presented by The Chronicle of Higher Education.
Now in its eighth year, Great Colleges to Work For recognizes the colleges that get top ratings from their employees on workforce practices and policies. A total of 86 colleges have been recognized on the list, out of the 281 participating institutions that applied. Employees from Roberts Wesleyan College participated in the survey.
“The college was recognized in four categories, which is rare for a first time recipient,” said Ruth Logan, vice president for administration of Roberts Wesleyan College.
Roberts Wesleyan College was recognized in the following four categories: Collaborative Governance, Confidence in Senior Leadership, Facilities, Workspace & Security and Supervisor/Department Chair Relationships.
“We are grateful to be honored and represented on this prestigious list,” said Deana L. Porterfield, president of Roberts Wesleyan College and Northeastern Seminary.
Competing against hundreds of institutions across the country, Roberts Wesleyan College participated in a rigorous selection process, which included a two-part assessment: an institutional audit that captured demographics and workplace policies, and a survey administered to faculty, administrators and professional support staff. The primary factor in deciding whether an institution received recognition was the employee feedback.
Great Colleges to Work For results were reported for small (2,999 students or fewer), medium (3,000-9,999 students) and large institutions (10,000 or more students).
