The Summit Federal Credit Union celebrated the construction of their newest East Henrietta branch Tuesday morning with a brick-laying celebration.

Summit CEO Mike Vadala, County Executive Maggie Brooks and Henrietta Town Supervisor Jack Moore joined and helped to add “Summit blue” bricks to the exterior of the building.

The current Southtown Branch will close when the new branch opens, transferring members, funds, etc.

Vadala later announced the company’s time capsule project – Summit is asking for help from the public to help fill the time capsule until the end of the year.

The capsule, he said, will honor 2016 – the year the branch will open. Items can include 2015 memorabilia, as well, such as entertainment tickets, community items or news articles.

He said the capsule will be opened in 2046. Items can be dropped off at the current Henrietta branch at 333 W. Henrietta Road in Southtown Plaza.
