Opinion 15-15
Background: A full-time judge asks if he may serve without pay on the board of directors of a community-based, not-for-profit local development corporation intimately connected with a particular educational institution and which played a significant role in that educational entity’s placement in a particular neighborhood. The judge will not be involved in any fundraising activities. Rather, he would attend meetings and offer his perspectives as to what type of development might work best for both the educational institution and the surrounding community.
Opinion: The committee concluded that a full-time judge may serve on the board of directors of a not-for-profit local development corporation.
