The community is invited to enjoy more than 30 autumn activities during the Genesee River Romance Weekend today through Sunday.
The River Romance Weekend was announced by Mayor Lovely Warren with a ceremony dedicating a section of the Genesee Riverway Trail from the Seneca Park bridge to the Middle Falls Dam to former City Councilmember Bob Stevenson and his late wife Mary. Both worked extensively over the last three decades to establish the section of the trail which runs through the Maplewood Neighborhood.
“River Romance Weekend offers an excellent opportunity to get outside and re-discover the beauty and history of the Genesee River,” said Warren. “This event series is made possible through the hard work of many dedicated volunteers.”
Genesee River Romance, a tradition in Rochester for more than 25 years, is produced by the City of Rochester and many other community partners. Events include tours of historic sites along the river gorge, guided walks, bike rides, river cruises, kayaking excursions and, of course, romance.
