Man crashes into vacant Rochester gas station, causing fire

Police say a man was drunk behind the wheel when he crashed his car into a vacant gas station in downtown Rochester, setting the building on fire.

Officials say when officers arrived at the scene around 2:45 a.m. Wednesday the building on Andrews Street was engulfed in flames

The driver was found a few blocks away and taken into custody. Police say he wasn’t hurt.

Officials say the man will be charged with driving while intoxicated and aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle.
