ESL accepting applications for scholarships

High school seniors in the Greater Rochester area have another chance at winning $2,000 to put toward their college expenses. ESL Federal Credit Union is now accepting applications for its annual scholarship program, with five scholarship awards totaling $10,000.

Scholarship applications are available in ESL branches and online at www.esl.org. In order to be eligible, applicants must be:

• Member in good standing at ESL Federal Credit Union;

• High school senior in the Greater Rochester area during 2015/2016 school year; and

• Attending accredited college or university in fall 2016.

Applicants will be required to provide official copies of their transcripts, letters of recommendation from a school official and community/volunteer organization, and a list of extracurricular activities and community service. In an essay, students will write about how they demonstrate, in their lives, one of ESL’s core values – accountability, caring about people, initiative, integrity and teamwork.

Applications are due Feb. 1, 2016. The scholarship winners will be announced in the spring.
