St. John Fisher College received a $5,000 grant from KeyBank to assist with undergraduate scholarship awards.
The scholarship dollars were awarded to two Fisher students to help offset the cost of tuition. Eligibility for the scholarship requires students to be permanent residents of New York state, have a minimum grade point average of 2.5, be in good standing at Fisher, and demonstrate a history of community involvement. Students can be full- or part-time.
“Consistent with the mission of the college, this gift from KeyBank is aimed at providing access to a Fisher education for those students that are academically-driven and service-focused,” said Jose Perales, interim vice president of enrollment management.
Jim Barger, Rochester Market president at KeyBank, said providing students the opportunity to pursue an education at the college enhances not only the lives of those attending but adds to the vitality of the Western New York region as a whole.
“At KeyBank, we’re committed to supporting thriving students by providing them with opportunities to prepare for fulfilling careers through access to high quality education,” said Barger. “St. John Fisher College is one of our region’s most respected educational institutions and plays a major role in creating a thriving workforce by graduating ambitious, community-minded, well-prepared young professionals. We are a proud partner of the college.”
