Attorney Luis E. Ormaechea has joined Harris Beach PLLC as an associate in the firm’s Intellectual Property Law Practice Group. He focuses his practice on intellectual property matters, including patent, trademark, copyright and trade dress infringement actions, as well as patent prosecution and related litigation. He has a strong science and technology background and experience in corporate transactions.
Roberts Communications announced the promotion of Andrea Rex to assistant account executive and Molly Enright to assistant account executive. Rex will continue to work with the account service department, supporting complex projects and campaigns for several clients, including Xerox Corporation. In addition to assisting with demand generation and sales enablement campaigns, she will play a key role in corporate advertising and case study development. Enright will continue to be an active member of the account service team, providing recruitment and brand awareness campaign support across several clients, including Xerox Corporation, Jewish Senior Life and Philips Healthcare. She will develop and support direct mail and email, Google AdWords, social media and website content campaigns.
Canandaigua National Bank & Trust announced the addition of Darrin Brentnall to the Commercial Services Team as vice president, Commercial Lending. Brentnall comes to CNB from Lyons National Bank, where he was vice president and SBA manager.
Design firm Clark Patterson Lee announced that Doug Daniszewski and Jen Graney have joined its team in the Rochester office. Daniszewski is an IT specialist who will assist with technological hardware and software needs as they arise, as well as proactively working to ensure Clark Patterson Lee is on the cusp of technological efficiency. Graney is an HR analyst who will collect and study information related to jobs, issues and costs affecting Clark Patterson Lee.
Allendale Columbia School announced several faculty and staff promotions: Martha Bjorklund has been promoted to assistant head of Lower School in addition to her position as enrichment specialist, Emily Gillette has been promoted to director of Alumni Relations as well as operating as assistant director of Development, Ray Istas has been promoted to director of Athletics, Shannon Baudo has joined the school as director of Enrollment Management and Financial Aid, Ryan Burke has been promoted to head of Middle and Upper schools, Tina Duver has been promoted to assistant head of the Middle School and Nathaniel Merritt has been promoted to assistant head of Upper School.
Bjorklund will develop relationships with colleges, universities, local companies and other community assets to enrich and authenticate learning opportunities for Allendale Columbia students. This promotion is a milestone in her 15-year career at Allendale Columbia. Gillette will develop opportunities for alumni to remain connected to each other and to the school, including engaging alumni in their respective fields and locations, and encouraging them to share their personal and professional achievements with the Allendale community, creating and executing alumni events, overseeing the Alumni Association Board of Directors, and sharing and celebrating the history of the school.
Istas will oversee the athletics program, providing leadership and support to students, coaches and families. He is moving into this position after serving as Physical Education Teacher at Allendale Columbia since 2011. Baudo looks forward to leading Allendale Columbia’s admissions department, helping connect with families and recruit and enroll new students into the school. Burke will be responsible for Allendale Columbia’s educational programs in grades 6-12. He is moving into this position after serving as head of Middle School at Allendale Columbia, a position he has held since 2013.
Duver will assist the head of Middle and Upper schools with the day-to-day running of the Middle School. This includes organizing student government, and the club and advisory program, meeting with students and parents, and guiding them through the academic process in a supportive role. Duver will also teach a section of sixth-grade science. Merritt is in charge of student life, staff evaluation and professional development for the Upper School. He has worked in education for 10 years, in both public and independent school systems. Most recently, Merritt served as director of Health, Physical Education and Athletics at Allendale Columbia.
