The Greater Rochester Association for Women Attorneys held its annual holiday party on Thursday, selecting Crisis Nursery of Greater Rochester as the organization’s charitable initiative this year.
GRAWA members Wende Knapp and Laura Myers pulled together auction items to give members a choice whether to contribute cash, or buy a silent auction item, with the money from either source going back to Crisis Nursery to help pay for caregivers.
Crisis Nursery is dedicated to providing safe, professional and temporary care to children during family crises, its services are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year for children ages newborn to 14 years old. The services are free to families experiencing medical emergencies, accidents, mental health episodes and other scenarios where the parents have no one else to turn to for safe childcare.
Between the auction and donations, over $1,500 was collected while dozens of GRAWA members enjoyed food and conversation at City Grill.
