Westmar Plaza’s renovation draws primary care practice

UR Medicine Primary Care’s Gates Medical Associates practice has relocated to Westmar Plaza, with expanded office space for its medical services and improved access for patients with limited mobility.

The move was announced by the Brookhill Group, which owns Westmar Plaza. Brookhill noted that the shopping center has completed the first phase of a renovation to provide additional handicapped parking in the center’s common areas and has created a new, distinctive entrance for the UR Medicine practice.

Anchored by Big Lots Stores and Patriot’s Bingo, Westmar is a 165,000-square-foot shopping center at the intersection of Buffalo and Pixley Roads. UR Medicine Gates Medical Associates will occupy 11,500 square feet of newly constructed modern office space.

“The expansion of UR Medicine Primary Care into Westmar Plaza provides area residents with outstanding medical services, a revitalized plaza and a catalyst for economic growth in the Buffalo Road corridor,” says Mark Assini, Gates town supervisor. “Gates is proud to welcome such an outstanding neighbor to our community.”

“We are proud to welcome UR Medicine Primary Care,” says Michael Palumbo of Flaum Management, who served as broker for the Landlord. “The expanded practice space and increased parking options will allow UR Medicine’s providers to continue delivering excellent medical care to area patients.” Adam Smith of The Cabot Group represented the University of Rochester.

Charles Kramer, President of The Brookhill Group, a diversified real estate company that owns and operates shopping centers throughout the United States including Winton Place in Henrietta as well as Westmar Plaza, said: “This new medical facility will bring improved medical care in new modern offices to Gates. We are extremely pleased to have the University as our tenant.”

With its expanded facilities, Gates Medical Associates noted that it is accepting new patients.
