Brian Baxter Jr. gets 25 to life for 2014 murder

A Rochester man has been sentenced to 25 years to life in prison for a 2014 murder.

Monroe County Supreme Court Justice Alex R. Renzi sentenced Brian Baxter Jr., 20, for the Nov. 6, 2014, killing of Quadrey Henderson-Speed. 19.

Henderson-Speed was walking to his school bus stop on Jefferson Avenue near Seward Street in the City of Rochester when he was gunned down by Baxter.

Baxter approached the victim from behind and fired six shots, striking him once in the back. Henderson-Speed died at the scene from a single shot that pierced his heart.

The case was prosecuted by assistant Monroe County District Attorney Elizabeth Buckley.
