Narayana Kocherlakota, Lionel W. McKenzie Professor of Economics at the University of Rochester, and former president of the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis, and James E. Glassman, managing director and head economist for commercial banking at JPMorgan Chase & Co., will present their outlook for the U.S. and New York state economy during the 37th annual Economic Outlook at 8 a.m., Wednesday, at the Hyatt Regency Rochester. 125 E. Simon Business School Dean Andrew Ainslie will also deliver special remarks and moderate a chat with the speakers.
A former member of the Federal Open Market Committee, Kocherlakota is an expert on economic policy. He earned a doctorate in economics from the University of Chicago and has taught at several institutions including Stanford University, Northwestern University, the University of Iowa, and the University of Minnesota.
Glassman works closely with the JPMorgan Chase commercial banking, investment banking, and government relations groups, and publishes independent research on the principal forces shaping the economy and financial markets. From 1979 through 1988, he served in a number of areas in the Research and Statistics and Monetary Affairs divisions at the Federal Reserve Board in Washington, DC.
Glassman joined JPMorgan Chase in 1988. He earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, and a doctorate in economics from Northwestern University.
