A second trial for one of the three men charged with fatally shooting three people in Rochester in 2015 has ended with the defendant’s acquittal.

A jury deliberated for just a few hours Wednesday before finding 21-year-old Jalen Everett not guilty of second-degree murder in the August 2015 shooting outside the Rochester Boys and Girls Club.

Everett had been convicted of murder at his first trial, but the verdict was tossed out by a Monroe County Court judge after allegations of juror misconduct.

Everett, Michael Mathis and Johnny Blackshell Jr. were charged with killing three people and wounding three others by opening fire on a crowd leaving a basketball game at the community center.

Blackshell was convicted last summer and sentenced to life in prison.

A trial for Mathis is scheduled to start in June.
