Technology is reshaping the practice of law, including pro bono practice. It’s expanding services by enabling new ways of volunteering, and facilitating pro bono partnerships between nonprofit legal aid groups and non-legal community organizations.
While technology can help facilitate pro bono practices, it also poses risks. For example, risks may arise from different levels of use of technology through online interactive platforms, the use of social media, and the use of encryption in communication. In this CLE, panelists will discuss these ethical boundaries and challenges for pro bono attorneys.
The event is eligible for at least 1.5 credit hours in the ethics and professionalism category.
