A Pittsford man has admitted to federal tax fraud charges.
John Brian Mount, 60, pleaded guilty before Chief U.S. District Court Judge Frank P. Geraci to filing a false tax return. Mount is facing a maximum penalty of three years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
Mount was the executive director of Regional Area Recreation and Employee Services (RARES), a non-profit business at 312 W. Commercial St. in East Rochester that provides discounted tickets and services to subscribing companies.
Mount failed to report about $227,835.77 in salary and commissions on federal tax returns, which resulted in failing to pay $60,977 in taxes.
Mount is scheduled to be sentenced on Sept. 19.
