Deputy Managing Member, Bond, Schoeneck & King PLLC
Years in current role: 11 years as member
What do you enjoy most about your role?
I enjoy managing the office and helping my colleagues and staff feel fulfilled in their practice and daily roles, while at the same time enjoying the practice of law. It is so gratifying to help grow the office and make it a place that everyone enjoys coming to on a daily basis.
What has been the biggest challenge you’ve dealt with over the past year?
Adjusting to being remote was a challenge, but gradually became easier as time went on. More challenging was helping people navigate the additional responsibilities that fell to them such as caring for family, teaching children at home and needing to be physically present in the home more due to no in-person learning.
What do you see as the biggest changes in the legal industry in the next 3-5 years?
The definition of “office.” I think more people will continue to work remotely, recognizing that being in the office daily is not needed for their practice. I think the physical office footprint will shrink.
What advice would you give law students who are graduating this year?
Continue to work hard and utilize all of your contacts, both personally and professionally.
What are you most looking forward to doing as COVID restrictions ease?
Meeting with clients in person, collaborating with my colleagues in person, and attending networking and CLE events in person.
