Harter Secrest & Emery announces that Timothy W. Menasco, a member of the firm’s Intellectual Property practice, has been elected partner in the firm.
Menasco assists clients through the process of preparing and prosecuting patents in the United States and in countries around the world. He frequently prepares patentability opinions, performs freedom to operate analysis and negotiates technology transfer and licensing agreements. In addition, Menasco counsels clients through disputes, threatened litigation, and litigation involving patents, trade secrets, inventorship challenges and copyrights. He strategizes with engineers, inventors, and senior executives regarding effective and efficient U.S. and foreign patent portfolio development. Menasco was selected by his peers for inclusion in 2021 and 2022 Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch in America for Intellectual Property Law, and he was included in the Upstate New York Super Lawyers Rising Stars list from 2017-2020.
