What has been the biggest challenge you’ve dealt with over the past year?

The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the workplace cannot be overstated. It has been both a challenging and gratifying experience to assist my clients with navigating the rapidly changing landscape as it relates to remote work, labor shortages, and workplace safety and privacy to name a few.

What do you see as the biggest changes in labor and employment law in the next 3-5 years?

I think some of the most rapidly evolving areas in employment law include compensation, specifically as it relates to cryptocurrency, pay equity and transparency. We will also likely continue to see more legal scrutiny of non-competition agreements and an increase in union organizing. As a result of the pandemic, we will see continued legal developments related to remote work and workplace safety.

What community organizations do you support as a volunteer and why?

I serve on the boards of Volunteers of America Upstate New York, Elevate Rochester and the Rochester Broadway Theatre League. Each of these organizations add tremendous value to our community and it is a privilege to be a small part of it.
