What has been your biggest success over the past year?
Getting insurance companies to pay now, instead of stalling as things moved slowly due to COVID. Surviving the difficulties we all faced during the worst of the pandemic, keeping all employees fully paid, and building out our new offices at our building in Honeoye Falls.
What are your expectations for the rest of this year?
Things will slowly come back, but not exactly as they were before. The hybrid use of virtual court appearances allows judges to keep conferences to a reasonable length to keep their dockets moving. Also, although not the preferred method, virtual depositions have helped us all keep cases moving along.
What advice would you give someone starting a personal injury law practice right now?
Don’t give in to the “Mill” style of practice. Keep every client feeling that you are accessible, reasonable, and chose the clients you really feel deserve help. Resist running a “get every file you can” and settle. Your practice carries with it the responsibility to help each client, as they are depending on your fairness and advice.
