What has been your biggest success over the past year?

We received a very favorable report and recommendation in a patent license dispute for a small technology company. Having the opposing parties’ baseless claims dismissed will allow our client to continue to commercialize its cutting-edge technology in a variety of industries.

What advice would you give someone starting an intellectual property practice right now?

Young IP attorneys should obtain a broad background in intellectual property law and related services. Our region’s clients need assistance and advice across a wide range of issues. In order to broaden your experience, you should make choices that keep doors open to new opportunities.

What is one personal goal you have for the next year?

As we move to a post-pandemic world, I hope to have more direct and personal contact with colleagues, peers and clients in meaningful interactions.
