Gregory R. Connors
Connors & Ferris LLP
Gregory Connors knows how frustrating and confusing it can be for injured workers to navigate the intricacies of workers’ compensation. That’s part of the reason he helped found Connors & Ferris, LLP of Rochester, more than a decade ago and has worked with more than 10,000 people in areas of workers’ compensation, Social Security disability and personal injury.
Among the successes he considers most rewarding: “Helping hard working people get the medical treatment their doctors request and the benefits they need to support their families when they are hurt,” he said. For example, a particular case that stands out for Connors as a success resulted in securing weekly benefits for a volunteer firefighter after he’d been denied for more than five years. Another career highlight involved securing death benefits for the children of a worker who died from complications related to his work-related injury.
He’s also integrated his passion for philanthropy into his firm’s culture. Connors is an active member of the Hunter’s Hope Board of Directors, an organization that focuses on education, research and family care for patients with Krabbe Leukodystrophy, a fatal genetic disease that affects the nervous system.
As a life-long athlete and former football player at Alfred University, he said he believes the lessons he’s learned on the field have been instrumental in shaping his personal growth in and out of the courtroom. He’s especially proud of Connors & Ferris’ long-term partnership with the National Football League’s Buffalo Bills, the Section V Football Committee and the creation of the Connors & Ferris Bowl along with the I-90 Thruway Regional Football Championship series.
“My approach is to be actively involved in anything I get involved in, especially nonprofits,” he said. “I’ve been very active in trying to encourage the development of younger professionals…Always trying to pay it forward to others.”
