Morgenstern DeVoesick PLLC
Jeffrey DeVoesick tends to do his best work and excel when his plate is completely full. For example, DeVoesick worked as a full-time sales executive for a publicly traded Fortune 500 software company during his first year at Capital University Law School. After building his career at notable Rochester firms, he later helped to found Morgenstern DeVoesick PLLC in Pittsford.
The firm started with just three employees, and in four years’ time, has grown to nearly 20.
“It’s kind of amazing that what we have built from the ground up is now directly financially supporting nearly twenty families,” DeVoesick said.
For the past 16 years, he has been advising private companies of all sizes and structures on a variety of commercial and corporate transactions, ranging from acquisitions, sales, mergers and financing to corporate governance, executive and employee compensation and shareholder rights. He earned a master’s of law in taxation from the New York University School of Law.
DeVoesick is a member of the New York State and Monroe County Bar Associations and the past chair of the Executive Council of the Monroe County Bar Association’s Trusts and Estates section. He also volunteers with the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Fairport.
A dedicated family man, DeVoesick said he is proud of his children’s character and charitable works in the community. He is also an involved mentor at his firm. “I enjoy working with the younger attorneys and mentoring them on transactions and deal issues they encounter, specifically tax issues,” he said. “Many young attorneys are often fearful of trying to learn and grasp the basic income tax implications involved with transactions and corporate formations.”
