Jay, noted civil rights lawyer, dies

Buffalo lawyer David Gerald Jay, widely considered one of the Buffalo area’s prominent criminal defense attorneys and known nationally for his work as a civil rights lawyer, died Tuesday at Hospice Buffalo after battling thyroid cancer. He was 71.
