‘Cut the Violence’ event planned

County Legislator Willie Joe Lightfoot will host the 30th “Cut the Violence” event, aimed to help meet children’s basic needs, build community ties, and bring hope to young residents of challenged neighborhoods. This year’s event is dedicated to the memory of all those who have been the victims of violence in the last 10 years, according to a release.
The event will be held Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. at The Boys and Girls Club of Rochester, 500 Genesee St., Rochester. Offered at the event will be haircuts, toys and winter coats for city children.
Donors can call (585) 753-1940 to schedule a drop-off of winter coats and jackets.
Children must be accompanied by their parent or guardian.
