Stun gun victim suing New York City police

NEW YORK — An 86-year-old New York City man says police wrongly used a on him while searching for a suicidal 23-year-old man.

An attorney for told the New York Daily News on Monday that he has informed the city his Brooklyn client plans to file a $5 million lawsuit for excessive force and falsely charging him with harassment.

Court documents say Antoine was holding a knife and an onion in the kitchen when police came into his apartment in October.

Antoine says he unknowingly buzzed police in and they told him to put the knife down. He says he was stunned in his neck and leg when he turned to put the knife down.

The NYPD say the officers responded appropriately.
