Seneca County man sentenced on child pornography charges

A Seneca County man was sentenced to 15 years in prison on child pornography charges.

Christopher Eberhardt, 34, of Ovid, who was convicted of distribution, receipt, and possession of child pornography, also must serve 15 years of post-release supervision.

Eberhardt was part of a network of more than 70 people who traded child pornography, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

The network was first discovered by Special Agents of Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) working in Hartford, Conn.

Agents from the Buffalo field office of HSI uncovered a digital trail, which led to the defendant.

Eberhardt had more than 2,000 images and 132 videos of child pornography and he distributed child pornography to other individuals, prosecutors said.
