Four men facing drug charges

A federal grand jury has indicted four men on drug trafficking charges.

Charged with conspiring to possess with intent to distribute, and distributing, five kilograms or more of cocaine are: David Washington, a/k/a Dirty Dave, a/k/a Dirt, a/k/a Wavy Davey, 39; and Eleazar Martinez Medina, 50, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

The charge carries a mandatory minimum penalty of 10 years in prison, and a maximum of life in prison.

In addition, David Burgin, 47, and Rodney Pierce, 32, are charged with conspiring to distribute 500 grams or more of cocaine, prosecutors said.

Burgin also is charged with maintaining a drug involved premises and possession of firearms in furtherance of drug trafficking crimes. Pierce faces a mandatory minimum sentence of five years in prison and a maximum of 40 years. Burgin faces a mandatory 10 years, and a maximum of life in prison.

Prosecutors claim the defendants were involved in a drug trafficking ring that stretched from Buffalo to California and involved cocaine, crack cocaine, and fentanyl transported to the Buffalo area for sale.

Search warrants executed at 12 homes turned up six guns, ammunition, a marijuana, more than 7 ½ kilograms of suspected cocaine and crack cocaine, more than two kilograms of fentanyl, more than $750,000 in cash, and drug packaging materials.
