What do you enjoy most about practicing intellectual property law?

Working with clients to solve their intellectual property issues and in a way that implements their business strategy. Seeing new ideas is always exciting and being able to protect those assets for clients is so rewarding.

What do you see as the biggest changes in the legal industry in the next 3-5 years?

Associate training is going to be changing. Meaningful training of associates has always been critical and it is becoming more complicated as remote work arrangements increase. In addition, the legal industry will have increased access to significant new tools such as artificial intelligence, where the use, and appropriate use of this technology will change the legal industry.

What are you most looking forward to doing as COVID restrictions ease?

In-person meetings with clients. While video conferencing has rapidly integrated into daily life and is a very useful tool, it does not replace being able to sit down with a client, work through the issues, and develop strategies.
