Judge added to NY state watchdog agency

David Fried, a New York Court of Claims judge and acting state Supreme Court justice, has been appointed to the New York State Commission on Judicial Conduct by Gov. Kathy Hochul.
Fried is a graduate of Manhattanville College and the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law.
He was appointed to the Court of Claims in 2023 and serves as an acting justice of the Supreme Court in Rockland County.
Fried succeeds Appellate Division Justice Robert J. Miller, who served on the commission from 2018 until his retirement from the bench on Dec. 31.
