Craig J. Doran, administrative judge for the Seventh Judicial District has announced that Monroe County Family Court Judge John B. Gallagher Jr. has been appointed supervising judge for the
Family Courts throughout the Seventh Judicial District.

Gallagher will replace Monroe County Family Court Judge Gail A. Donforio, who held the position for five years.
“I am grateful to Justice Donofrio for her many years of excellent leadership and guidance she has provided to the judges and non-judicial
staff of the Family Courts throughout the Seventh Judicial District,” Doran said in a news release.
“Through her stewardship the courts have continued to advance in areas of automation, customer service, reduction of cases beyond standards and goals an in a number of other areas,” Doran said in the statement.
The appointment of Gallagher was made after consultation with Chief Administrative Judge Lawrence K. Marks and with the approval of Chief Judge Janet DiFiore and Gerald J. Whalen,
presiding justice of the Fourth Department, Doran said.
