Mark M. Campanella

Owner/Principal, Law Office of Mark M. Campanella

Years in current role: 11.5

What has been your biggest success over the past year?

The past year in real estate was undoubtedly a challenging one. Market conditions changed so drastically from the first quarter of the year to the last that practitioners were kept on their toes throughout. In light of those realities, our biggest success was being able to navigate those radically changing waters while continuing to assist our clients as thoughtfully and efficiently as possible throughout the closing process.

What are your expectations for the next 6-12 months?

I expect market conditions in our region to remain largely the same for the next several months. While real estate can certainly slow down, it’s a practice that never sleeps. As housing inventory remains low, and rental prices stay high, we will continue to see a busy and competitive marketplace for those seeking a home of their own, despite the higher interest rates. The threat of recession remains ever present, but we are thankfully located in a region that has historically withstood the economic booms and busts that traditionally effect other real estate markets. Given the affordability of housing in our region and the fact that home prices are relatively slow to rise, the Rochester market should continue to withstand any market downturns that could be seen nationally.

What do you enjoy most about practicing law in the Rochester area?

Perhaps the thing I enjoy most about practicing real estate law in the Rochester area is the fact that we are a relatively small community, and a very collegial one at that. From the attorneys to the paralegals, we get to know one another very well, and it is generally a pleasure to deal with one another time and again on transactions.
