What do you expect to be the biggest challenges for the legal industry locally in the near future?

Artificial intelligence is going to impact the way new lawyers learn and develop legal skills in the future. I hope that individuals do not become discouraged from entering the legal profession because the legal industry will always need the judgment, compassion and other emotions of real, human lawyers.

What are your favorite aspects of the types of law you practice?

The tax law is always evolving so it forces you to be engaged in the law and regulation making process every day. Also, the tax law seems to touch almost every practice area of my firm. This allows me to interact with all of the lawyers in my firm, which is fun, and gain knowledge in several different practice areas (outside of tax).

What is your favorite time of year in the Rochester region and why?

Fall is my favorite time of year in Rochester. The weather and the colors on the trees are amazing. Also, it’s college football season!!

What career do you think you would have if you weren’t a lawyer?

I would be involved with dog shelters as a volunteer (because I would have more time) and perhaps I would be a hotel manager as a paying profession.
