What is one challenge currently facing the legal profession that deserves more attention?

I believe that billing structures will remain one of the most significant challenges facing the legal profession, particularly as the increased use of AI continues to transform how legal services are delivered. Clients are increasingly seeking predictability, transparency and value considering the rising cost of legal services. The profession must be willing to thoughtfully explore and adopt alternative fee arrangements.

How do you balance legal expertise with client service and relationship-building?

I am fortunate to have a background in marketing and a prior career in public relations, which has given me a valuable head start on the non-legal aspects of practicing law — particularly client service. After moving from Chicago to Rochester without an existing network, I quickly recognized the importance of building meaningful connections while continuing to develop my legal skills and knowledge.

What is one accomplishment — professional or personal — that you are especially proud of?

I am most proud of co-creating and co-authoring Candid Talk Women: At the Bar, a program designed to support and encourage women to remain in the practice of law. Drawing on our experiences as mothers and partners at different law firms, my colleague and I wanted to address the challenges many women face in balancing personal responsibilities with law firm culture — challenges that often lead them to leave the practice or opt out of partnership. We wanted to initiate a meaningful dialogue, with the goal of bringing these issues to light and fostering a more supportive path forward.
