What changes in the legal industry do you believe will have the biggest impact on clients over the next few years?

Artificial intelligence is going to help attorneys deliver more, faster — but can also be a double-edged sword as it will likely lead to an increase of pro se litigants with a false sense of confidence relying on AI.

What is one challenge currently facing the legal profession that deserves more attention?

A huge disparity between extremely high-priced firms billing at eye-watering hourly rates who serve huge businesses and the ultra-wealthy vs. boutique firms working with regular human beings and delivering affordable, flat-fee service.

How do you balance legal expertise with client service and relationship-building?

Take the time to explain legal concepts in a way that the clients understand. They don’t care how smart you are if they don’t understand what you’re saying.

How important is community involvement or pro bono work within your organization?

As the father of a special needs child and an LGBTQ child, I believe it is essential to provide service to these underserved groups at a discounted rate or pro bono, as the case demands.

What is one accomplishment — professional or personal — that you are especially proud of?

I am an “A Class” shooter in USPSA and hold a federal firearms license.
