What changes in the legal industry do you believe will have the biggest impact on clients over the next few years?

With continued emphasis on the use of AI, information will continue to become more accessible and clients will be able to quickly tap into endless amounts of information. This transition will create a real emphasis on critical thinking and judgment with clients focused on seeking out advisors who can evaluate risk and navigate difficult decisions when the right answer is not always obvious. The most impactful legal advisors will be those who can provide practical judgment and help to instill confidence in their clients when making high-stakes decisions.

How do you balance legal expertise with client service and relationship-building?

I’ve found that the best employment lawyers are not just legal advisors but instead they are trusted partners. My clients are often dealing with situations that have potential legal and employee relations implications, so my job is to help them see the full picture and make informed decisions. Whether I’m advising on a workplace issue, conducting an internal investigation, responding to an agency charge, or defending a case in court, I focus on providing practical and straightforward advice that aligns with the client’s goals. With this approach, I have been able to establish relationships with clients built on trust and a shared commitment to finding the best solutions for difficult and complicated situations.

How important is community involvement or pro bono work within your organization?

Community involvement is very important to me. I have always felt a duty to help strengthen the community through mentorship and volunteer service. Through board leadership, mentoring emerging professionals, and supporting local organizations, I have contributed in ways that create opportunity and build a stronger foundation for the future. I have long believed in the adage, “Lift as we climb.” Success is most meaningful when it creates opportunities for others, and the best way to leave a lasting impact is to invest in the people and institutions that will shape our community long after we are gone.
