E-Z Pass On-the-Go tags now at local DMV offices

New York State Thruway E-Z Pass On-the-Go tags are now available for purchase at Greece, Henrietta and Irondequoit branch offices of the Department of Motor Vehicles.

The cost is $25. Cash, check or credit cards are accepted.

County Clerk Cheryl Dinolfo said the Thruway Authority allows for the sale of E-ZPass On-the-Go pre-paid tags at private and municipal locations as part of the E-ZPass program.  Once an E-ZPass tag is purchased, the customer has immediate access to the first $15.00 and then must register the tag with the Thruway Authority to utilize the remaining $10 of the pre-loaded $25 amount for toll fees.

Dinolfo also announced that DMV services, including the sale of E-Z Passes, will be available at the Rochester International Auto Show from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. this Saturday and Sunday. A wide range of transactions will be processed at the auto show on Saturday including license and registration renewals. On Sunday, drop-off registration renewals, change of address and license plate surrender transactions will be available and staff will be on hand to answer DMV questions. Learner’s Permit tests, Enhanced Driver’s License, reciprocal license and enforcement transactions will not be available either day. The availability of services is dictated by New York State DMV regulations.

A ticket to the Auto Show will not be needed to access DMV services at the event.
