Attica inmate death under investigation

Listen to this articleThe New York State Police, with assistance from the state Department of Corrections and the Wyoming County District Attorney’s Office, are investigating the death of an inmate Friday at the Attica State Correctional Facility, following an inmate assault.
Rodney Calloway, 26, was taken to Wyoming Community Hospital in Warsaw where he was pronounced dead at 10:44 p.m. Friday, about 90 minutes after an incident at the prison. A post-mortem examination was conducted at the Monroe County Medical Examiner’s Office on Monday with the death being ruled a homicide. The investigation is continuing.
Calloway was serving a 20-year sentence for conviction of first-degree robbery, first-degree burglary and other charges from Kings County.
