Eastman House, UR win NEA funding

The George Eastman House and the University of Rochester will each receive $30,000 as part of $712,500 in federal funding for the arts in New York state.

U.S. Senators Charles Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand announced the funding Wednesday. It comes from the National Endowment for the Arts and will allow organizations to support residencies for artists, exhibitions, professional development, and public engagement and outreach.

Other beneficiaries include Bard College in Columbia County ($100,000), the Thomas Cole Historic House in Greene County ($40,000), CNY Arts, Inc. ($35,000); the Center for Photograph at Woodstock ($30,000) and Yaddo in Saratoga Springs ($25,000).
