Phillips Lytle names new Rochester office leader

Phillips Lytle LLP partner Chad W. Flansburg has been appointed Rochester office leader.

Flansburg succeeds Jillian M. Dunbar, who guided the firm’s recent relocation to Innovation Square.

The transition marks the next phase of the firm’s continued investment in regional growth, talent development and client service in the Rochester market, according to a Phillips Lytle news release.

As Rochester office leader, Flansburg will oversee the firm’s local operations. In addition to supporting the firm’s clients, Flansburg will focus on fostering collaboration across practice areas, mentoring rising attorneys and strengthening the firm’s engagement with the Rochester business and legal communities.

“I’m honored to serve as Rochester office leader and build on the strong foundation that my colleagues in Rochester have established for Phillips Lytle regionally,” Flansburg stated in the news release.

“Our Rochester office is well positioned for continued success, with momentum rising behind our meaningful local client work and its impact in the region,” he said.

Flansburg is a trial lawyer with extensive first-chair experience representing clients in complex commercial litigation matters in state and federal courts throughout the United States.

His practice includes construction litigation, business disputes, appellate matters and high-stakes commercial litigation across a broad range of industries.

Flansburg has been named to The Daily Record’s Power 20 Litigation List, as well as The Daily Record’s and Rochester Business Journal’s Attorneys of the Year, and is active in the Rochester legal and business communities through leadership and professional service roles.

Phillips Lytle Managing Partner Douglas W. Dimitroff added that Dunbar’s leadership was instrumental in advancing the firm’s Rochester strategy and successfully guided the office through a transformative period.

Dunbar will continue her practice as a partner, focusing primarily on commercial lending and community development work regionally and nationally.
