Police release name of slain western NY woman

Listen to this articlePERINTON — Authorities have released the name of the suburban Rochester woman found slain in her home last week.
The Monroe County Medical Examiner’s office tells Rochester media outlets that 37-year-old Patricia Irish died from asphyxiation and multiple stab wounds. Sheriff’s deputies have charged her husband, 56-year-old Douglas Irish, with second-degree murder. He has pleaded not guilty.
Patricia Irish’s body was found Friday evening inside the family’s home in the town of Perinton. Deputies were called to the house after two of her children couldn’t get inside after coming home from school.
Neighbors say the couple married about a year ago.
Douglas Irish is being held in Monroe County Jail without bail.
