Eastman’s grave part of business park’s sale

The next owner of Rochester’s Eastman Business Park will get more than the many buildings on the 1,200-acre property. They’ll also get the grave of the man who revolutionized the photography industry.

The ashes of George Eastman, founder of Eastman Kodak, are buried under a memorial located on what is now the Eastman Business Park. Earlier this week, Kodak announced that it has put the entire industrial property up for . The property has its own utility system, an in-plant railroad, more than 50 tenant companies currently — and the Eastman Memorial.

Local media reported that Kodak said in a statement the company “will include provision for appropriate upkeep of this important site.”
