Yates County man admits to child porn charge

A Yates County man has pleaded guilty to federal pornography charges.

Jeffrey Maciejewski, 26, of Penn Yan, NY, pleaded guilty before Chief U.S. District Court Judge Frank P. Geraci Jr. to possession of .

Maciejewski is facing a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison, supervised release for life and a $250,000 fine.

In May 2018, the Los Angeles office of the executed a federal search warrant at a residence in Solvang, California, and seized several electronic items containing child pornography.

A person living in the home admitted to using social networking sites such as Kik and Live.me to trade child pornography with others online.

Based on that information, investigators identified several individuals, including Maciejewski , who were actively involved in the child pornography trade, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

Maciejewski was a substitute teacher in the Penn Yan Central School District. The FBI obtained a search warrant and interviewed Maciejewski at the school district’s offices. During the interview, he admitted to trading child pornography on the internet, prosecutors said.

Maciejewski stored child pornography on the cloud storage service called Mega, which is based in New Zealand. With the help of New Zealand authorities, the FBI obtained the contents of Maciejewski’s Mega account, which contained hundreds of images and videos of child pornography, prosecutors said.

His electronic devices were also forensically examined. He possessed more than 600 images and videos of child pornography, including sexual abuse of infants and toddlers, according to prosecutors.
