What do you enjoy most about practicing intellectual property law?

Working with clients on how to comprehensively and strategically protect and leverage their intellectual property (IP), which can be a client’s most valuable asset. Learning new things on a day-to-day basis; no two days are ever the same and both the legal practice and technologies are always changing. Also, the ability to work with clients throughout the United States and in different countries throughout the world — over the years, I have formed valuable and treasured relationships with IP professionals and clients in many different countries, an opportunity I might not have had otherwise.

What do you see as the biggest changes in the legal industry in the next 3-5 years?

The expectation and management of a remote and/or hybrid work place, and the related increased competition for legal professionals and administrative staffing.

What community organizations do you support as a volunteer and why?

Monroe Community Bar Association (MCBA), as a Business Law Board member, and the Rochester Rotary.

What are you most looking forward to doing as COVID restrictions ease?

I look forward to traveling mostly and attending live events, concerts and musicals. Also, attending professional events in person both locally, nationally and internationally.
