Private Practice

Damelio has been a criminal defense attorney in Rochester for more than 35 years and has represented a number of public officials in high-profile cases, including former Rochester Mayor Lovely Warren, former City Council member Adam McFadden, late Assemblyman Joseph Errigo and former Deputy Monroe County Executive James Smith.

Before going into private practice, Damelio was an associate of former criminal lawyer Michael Rose for about 10 years.

In addition to defending public officials, Damelio has represented killers such as Johnny Blackshell, Frank Garcia, and Robert Spahalski, as well as former police officers Chad Rahn and James Telban.

Damelio earned a bachelor’s degree from SUNY Buffalo, and graduated from Capital University Law School in Ohio in 1986.
